Manners Will Take You Places Money Won’t is the
extraordinary life story of Cashawn Myers-Ras Cashawn—a man
shaped by community, guided by spirit, and committed to African
liberation, sustainability, and service. Born to a fifteen-year-old
mother in Brunswick, Georgia, he grew from humble beginnings
into a leader whose work would impact generations across the
African diaspora.
His path led him from childhood days on dirt roads to Howard
University and the Washington, D.C. Nyahbinghi House, where his
devotion to repatriation, empowerment, and truth-telling took
root. Cashawn later co-founded H.A.B.E.S.H.A. Inc., a
groundbreaking nonprofit blending African heritage with
environmental sustainability and training thousands in
agriculture, wellness, and self-sufficiency.
Now, in his 50th year, he reflects on his journey from rural
Georgia to the rainforests of Ghana, honoring the elders, comrades,
and communities who shaped him. This memoir is both personal
and communal—a testament to legacy, service, and what becomes
possible when we walk boldly in our purpose.
