Chef Rain Truth is a passionate vegan chef, vegan lifestyle educator, caterer and proud mother of three vegan children. She has been a vegan for over three decades. Her passion for cooking started as young child inspired by her father, grandmother and aunts. While the other children were outdoors playing and soaking up the sun, you could find Rain in the kitchen helping her grandmother prepare the meals for the day. There was a sense of pride she felt in organizing the food so that it had a visually appealing aspect. Throughout the years she would find that her zest for food and culture was deeply embedded in her spirit.
Trained as a vegan lifestyle coach in New York City’s Main Street Vegan Academy, Rain is very knowledgeable in her artistry. Chef Truth holds accreditations as a nationally certified ServSafe® Allergens Specialist, nationally certified ServSafe® Food Protection Manager, and certified in the county of Lake and licensed in the state of Illinois and Wisconsin by the Department of Health and National Restaurant Association. Rain has demonstrated her culinary expertise at outdoor festivals such as Chicago African Festival of the Arts, Roosevelt University Earth Day Fest, Blacks In Green, Milwaukee Vegan Fest and markets throughout the Midwest and east coast, indoor expos, private parties, elite clientele and political and figures. She provides catering for weddings, baby showers, repasses and personal chef services, weekly meals to clients, food demos for cancer support groups, teaches culinary classes to children ages 6 to 14 for the Waukegan Park District, and lifestyle coaching for seniors and those that diagnosed with diabetes.
