1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons boiling water
1/4 cup vegetable shortening


1/4 cup Chinese chives, leeks or scallions, finely chopped
2 shiitake mushrooms, rehydrated and minced (
2 vegan shrimp, minced
1/4 teaspoon salt (maybe not with bouillon)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon 5 spice powder
1/2 teaspoon vegetable bullion
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon vegan oyster sauce (
1/3 cup vegan beef crumbles
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup water
