Sweet Milk Bread
This is my beautiful recipe for making a perfect Sweet soft Milk Bread.
6 Cups of Bread Flour
1 Cup of Sugar (you can use 1/2 of a cup if you want a lesser sweet Bread)
1/2 Teaspoon Vitamin C (Vinegar or Apple Cider Vinegar will work as well)
3 Tablespoons of Butter
2 Tablespoons of Yeast
1 Cup of Water
1 Cup of Milk
1 Teaspoon of Salt
NOTE- I forgot to show the addition of the milk please remember to add 1 Cup of Milk
Here are some important things I did to achieve the final result.
1-I added Vitamin C Powder. This can also be replaced with 2 Tbsp of Vinegar or 11/2 Tbsp of lemon Juice. This acts as a preservative and it also creates an acidic environment which helps the Yeast to work better.
2-I added Fat in this case Butter. The Fat helps to enhance the flavor, texture and moisture if the bread. Generally the quantity of Butter to be added should be 1 Teaspoon for every cup of Flour but half of the quantity required has always worked for me
3-I steamed up the Oven so that the Dough will have enough time to rise before the crust is formed.
4-I Buttered the Bread surface to get a shiny,soft and tender crust.
5-‘Bread flour has more protein content than all-purpose, which helps with gluten development. Some recipes call for it when an especially chewy and elastic crumb is desired’.(Ref. from thekitchn.com)
